Studied composition at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, UK, with Anthony Gilbert, Robin Walker & Adam Gorb. Moved to Darmstadt, won prizes for chamber work and first chamber opera "Putzfrauen" (2003). Graduated Reading University with PGCE. Working as an educator, composer, and musician in England. Recent work includes music for John Mortimer's "A Christmas Carol" and Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Upcoming premieres include Yaldo - a 45 minute cantata drawn from Syrian church modes and free jazz and Kraken II - an orchestral evocation of a sleeping sea monster of colossal proportions. Principal interests: the juxtaposition of unusual or unlikely combinations, music for the theater.
