he composer, pianist and bamboo flute player Meng-Chia Lin originally comes from Taiwan. She studied piano and composition at the ''Musikhochschule'' in Freiburg and the ''Hochschule für Musik und Theater'' in Hannover, as well as electronic composition at the ''Hochschule für Musik und Tanz'' in Cologne.
In addition to her classical music education, as a teenager she received Chinese bamboo flute lessons which resulted in her finding a bridge between Western and Far Eastern music cultures in composing.
Her repertoire ranges from solo pieces to ensemble pieces, electroacoustic music, music for films, dance theatre, radio plays and music theatre.
She currently lives as a freelance artist in Cologne.
