The composer and conductor, Jorge Oviedo has written works in various formats some of which have been performed in Spain, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Peru, Uruguay, Switzerland, Hungary, Egypt. He has received awards and recognitions in Spain and Latin America. Manager and producer of important scenes and productions including local premieres of Ecuadorian and foreign composers.
He has conducted recordings of the creations of the most famous Ecuadorian academic composers:
Luis H. Salgado, Gerardo Guevara and Messiah Maiguashca.
He was conductor of the metropolitan wind orchestras and director of the musical ''De La Fundación Teatro Nacional Sucre''.
He served as assistant director of the ''Sinfónica Nacional Orchestra'' of Ecuador on various occasions. He currently holds a position as an independent director, teacher and composer within and outside the country.
