I am from Dalian, China. I started to learn the piano when I was 6 years old. After that, I have never stopped learning music, either with a teacher or not. After graduated from Tsinghua university in China as a master student in integrated circuit design in 2018, I went to KU Leuven in Belgium for my PhD in computational mathematics. In Leuven, I learned music with Peter Breugelmans from the year 2010: not only on playing the organ and the harpsichord, but also on basso continuo and improvisation. Then, I got a basic concept about composition. In 2013, I moved to Magdeburg in Germany and worked in the Max Planck institute as a scientific researcher. In Magdeburg, I first learned the organ with Matthias Mück (organist of the St. Sebastian Church) for a few months, and then with Barry Jordan, the organist of Magdeburg Cathedral, up to now. I learned a lot from Barry: improving organ play techniques, analyzing musical compositions, designing musical ideas, and extending repertoire to cover great organ music from the Baroque period to the contemporary era.
