Alexey Larin (1954), member of the Composers Union of Russia, prize-winner of several international composers’ competitions, including Musica Mundi Award (Germany, 1997), Classical Heritage Award (Russia, 1999), the Jihlava Award (Czech Republic, 2000), Klang der Welt Award (Germany, 2007), St. Romanos Melodos, Russia, 2012; and Isaak Dunayevsky Competition, Russia, 2018). He is owner of a gold medal of the Composers’ Union of Moscow (2014). Graduated from the Moscow Boys’ Chapel, Gnesins’ Musical Pedagogical Institute, postgraduate courses at GMPI.
Now he is Professor of the latter institution, renamed in Russian Gnesins’ Academy of Music, and Honorary Visiting Professor of Korea University (Seoul). He has participated in performances of his works in Austria, Cuba, Cyprus, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, Vietnam and Russia.
