Notes by Romanus Weichlein
Romanus Weichlein:
Born in Linz, he came to Salzburg as a student via the ''Lambach Monastery'' and as a trained theologian was a house composer in the Benedictine monastery of Säben in South Tyrol. He composed 12 five to seven part sonatas in the ''Eucaenia Musices'' collection in 1695 and several magnificent masses which unfortunately have not all survived. Wonderful Austrian Baroque!
