Composer Anastasia Pahos focuses on the element of sacredness in her music, particularly drawing from Eastern Orthodoxy. An Honours graduate from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Pahos has received several commissions, as well as a ‘New Work’ grant from The Australia Council for the Arts (2014).
Within the last few years, she has worked with The Consort of Melbourne (2018), The Song Company (2016), The Commonwealth Resounds and The Royal Over-seas League (Malta 2015), The Limelight Australian Composition Seminar (2015), The Chamber Choir of The Academy of Arts (Serbia 2015), The Melbourne Metropolitan Sinfonietta (2014), The Sydney Contemporary Orchestra (2014), and The Leichhardt Espresso Chorus (2014).
Having studied under Maestro Vladimir Alexandrovich (Gorbik) through The Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Music Institute (PaTRAM) (2016), Pahos has further expanded her career into conducting, guest-conducting The Australian Russian Sacred Choral Society (2016) and co-conducting Espresso Kids’ Choir (2015).
She has been involved in masterclasses with The Sydney Conservatorium of Music (2016), Gondwana Conducting Academy (2015), and The Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (2015).
