Soo-Hyun PARK
PARK studied composition, conducting and clarinet at the Osaka College of Music.
His works have been performed mainly in East Asia and Europe, such as Asian Music Festival in Tokyo, Jeju Wind Ensemble Festival in Korea, Gaohsiong Spring Festival in Taiwan, the ISCM “World Music Days” 2009 in Sweden and 2014 in Poland.
He won the 3rd ACL-Korea Composition Competition 2nd prize, the 15th Daegu International Contemporary Festival 1st prize, the Japan Clarinet Association Composition Competition for Clarinet 3rd prize, the Kansai Modern Music Association Composition Award, and the 7th All Japan Band Association Composition Competition 1st prize.
His works for chamber ensemble or wind band have been published by several publishers.
He has many activities not only as a composer, but also as a conductor, an instrumental player (clarinet, recorder and Chinese bamboo flute called Bawu), a researcher of music for children.
Currently PARK is a member of the Kansai Modern Music Association and Japanese Society for the Art of Wind Music. He is the main conductor of the Osaka Korean Wind Orchestra, invited conductor of the Miki Wind Phil Harmony, a senior lecturer at the Osaka College of Music (Composition) and Osaka Kyoiku University (Education for children).
