The Enztäler of 06.09.1901 reports: "that the victory in the Abt. Volksgesang would go to the Liederkranz was without doubt. The performance was characterized by a correct understanding of the composition, finest nuances, pure pronunciation and precision!
Unfortunately the excellent musician was transferred to Wittershausen on 23.09.1903.
On 04.10.1903 he was bid farewell by the Liederkranz with a carpet gift for 29 Marks 15 Pfennig. On 01.05.1904 the singers visited the teacher Arnold on an excursion to Wittershausen and enjoyed free beer for 18 Marks 70 Pfennig.
The choral society Sängerlust Wittershausen is with more than 125 years the oldest society in Wittershausen.
The choral society was founded as a male choir and was always led by the teachers of the local school. Whenever a teacher was transferred by the school board, it was hoped that his successor would take over the choir again. Especially during the war years it was difficult and a constant change, because the teachers were also called up.
An outstanding choir director was teacher Richard Arnold (1903-1912). As a composer, he composed many songs for male choirs and also performed them with a passion for singing. Sheet music from this time is still preserved and in the possession of the association.
