Franco-Flemish composer, born between 1430 and 1440 probably in Leuze, Brabant, died in Ferrara.
Musical education in Flanders. First employment as a singer in the Cathedral Cantorei Konstanz, from where the Duke of Ferrara summoned him to his court. In the meantime he worked in Milan, Mantua, Rome and Florence. His compositions include numerous Lied masses, motets of secular songs and mostly three-part instrumental pieces. In this, his style was particularly forward-looking in contrast to his more conservative motets.
