Robert Laugs (* 21 February 1875 in Saarbrücken; † 9 January 1942 in Kassel) was a German conductor and Kapellmeister.
Laugs studied at the Cologne Conservatory from 1892 to 1896; afterwards he directed the training classes there.
In 1903 he became conductor of the Konzertgesellschaft in Hagen and founded the Städtische Musikschule there. From 1907 he conducted the concerts of the Royal Orchestra in Berlin for several years and in 1913 he became Kapellmeister at the Royal Opera House Unter den Linden.
In 1914 he was appointed Chief Kapellmeister at the Staatstheater in Kassel. He retained this post until his death in 1942.
From 1922 to 1933 he conducted the Kassel A-Cappella Choir, and until 1941 he conducted the Kassel State Theater Orchestra.
Laugs was chairman of the music committee of the German Singers' Association. In 1927 he was appointed Dr. h. c. by the University of Marburg.
His son was the conductor and pianist Richard Laugs.
