Notes by Andreas Rauch

Andreas Rauch: Andreas Rauch (* about 1592 in Pottendorf (Lower Austria); † May 23, 1656 in Ödenburg) was an Austrian composer and organist of the early baroque period. Rauch worked in Protestant churches in present day Vienna and then in his home town before he was given a position in Ödenburg (now Sopron) in St. Michael's Church until his death.
His works cover a wide range of vocal and instrumental music. Motets with up to twelve voices were written by him as well as psalm settings (presumably lost) and hymns for 4 to 8 voices and b.c. Which were created to complement congregational singing.
