Okano Teiichi (jap. 岡野 貞一; * 16 February 16, 1878 in Tottori, Empire of Japan; † December 29, 1941 in Japan) was a Japanese composer, music teacher and organist.
Life
Okano studied from 1892 at the Tokyo Conservatory (Tōkyō Ongaku Gakkō) which is today part of the Tokyo University of the Arts. After his studies he became a music teacher in his native city. From 1932 until his retirement he was a lecturer for orchestra leaders. In addition, he worked for 40 years as choirmaster and organist at the Central Church in Tokyo Hongu.
His many songs made him a well-known composer of his time.
