Kurt Rommel served as parish priest in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance and in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. He was youth pastor in Stuttgart where he wrote and composed numerous new spiritual songs. In February 1962 he founded the form of a "cinema church service". Instead of the organ, a band played in the cinema. From 1974 Rommel was theological editor and later until 1992, he was editor-in-chief at the ''Evangelische Gemeindeblatt in Württemberg (Evangelical Community Newspaper). In addition to numerous book publications, he is also the author of a record series. He last lived in Weil der Stadt.
