Annibale Padovano (b. 1527 in Padua; † March 15, 1575 in Graz) was an Italian organist and composer.
He was first organist at St. Mark's Basilica in Venice from 1552 to 1565. Padovano was involved in the introduction of alternate music-making between the two organs and choirs posted on opposite galleries from which with Adrian Willaert, Venetian polychoral music was to develop.
Subsequently, he first worked as organist at the court of Archduke Karl in Graz. Here he reorganized the court music and from 1570 succeeded Johannes de Cleve (1528/29-1582) as court kapellmeister.
The composer published several toccatas and ricercare for organ and orchestra, as well as numerous church music pieces and madrigals. (Wikipedia)
