Only very little information can be found about Rafael Anglés. Even his probable year of birth, 1730, is not completely confirmed. As organist at the Cathedral of Valencia his compositions were no longer entirely under the influence of Domenico Scarlatti, who continued to work mainly in Spain until the generation before him (e.g. Soler and Seixas).
