Huber Károly; born July 1, 1828, in Várjas, now in Romania; died December 19, 1885 in Budapest)was a Hungarian violinist and composer.
Studied music in Arad. From 1844 he played violin at the ''Pest National Theater'' and from 1851 at the ''Vienna Opera''; the following year he returned to the ''Budapest Opera'' as concertmaster, filling the first post in the orchestra until 1871, then the duties of second conductor. In 1856 he undertook a tour of Europe. In 1857 he founded his own string quartet. From 1884 he taught at the ''Franz Liszt Academy of Music'', head of the violin department. Was the author of the opera "The Szekely Girl" (Hungarian. A székely leány; 1858), symphonic, chamber, choral works.
