Boschetti Hieronymus (Gerolamo) was an Italian composer and singer. The dates of his birth in Mantua and his death in Loreto are unknown. His activity as a composer and singer is known only between 1591 and 1611. Between 1591 and 1593/94 he was maestro di cappella at the chuch ''Santissima Madonna dei Monti'' in Rome. From May 25, 1594 to Apr. 20, 1595 he served at the Santa Casa in Loreto, where he succeeded Leonardo Meldert as director of the Cappella lauretana; from Nov. 1, 1608 to July 31, 1611 he is attested as contralto of the Cappella Giulia at St. Peter's in Rome. During his years in Rome he was mentored by Carlo Trotti, a clergyman; the "Secondo libro di madrigali" affectionately dedicated to Trocti also contains a work in his honor, "Ornasti voi signor".
