Dr. David Hedrick is retired associate professor of music at Campbellsville University School of Music. Having completed his 10th year at CU and having spent 28 years in the public schools as a high school choral director, health issues forced him into retirement . He has been a church musician for over 40 years and most recently retired as musical director at the outdoor musical drama "The Stephen Foster Story" located in Bardstown, KY. At CU he was director of the University Concert Chorus and taught applied voice and arranging. He has over 25 compositions and arrangements published and is an accomplished singer (tenor) with more than 50 years of performance credits in opera, musical theater, oratorio, and recitals. He has been a frequent adjudicator for vocal and choral festivals and has been a guest soloist for many oratorio performances. Although retired from vocal concert performances, he devoted much of his time at CU working on arrangements of vocal and instrumental music as well as composing original compositions for solo voice, SATB, instrumental solos a variety of ensembles including strings, woodwinds, marimba, guitar, orchestra, handbell choir, etc. Hedrick strives to make his compositions and arrangements suitable for all levels of performance.
