Louis Grossmann (* March 6, 1835 in Turek; † July 15, 1915 in Warsaw) was a Polish composer, conductor, and music trader.
Louis Grossmann studied harmony in Kalisz. Afterwards, counterpoint under Carl Friedrich Rungenhagen in Berlin and organ playing under Karl August Freyer in Warsaw. In 1857 he opened an instrument shop with a partner. He owned the largest stock of instruments in the country and soon manufactured his own instruments. The store became the center of musical life in Warsaw. A branch was then opened in St. Petersburg. Together with other intellectuals, he founded the ''Warsaw Music Society'' in 1871. He was a member of the board until 1874. In the summer of 1880, Grossmann met with Franz Liszt in the Thuringian spa town of Bad Liebenstein. In 1901 he became a member of the Warsaw Theater Board and the first board of the Warsaw Philharmonic. He served as director of the Warsaw Opera until his death in 1915.
