Gustav Bruno Dost (* July 6, 1849 in Werda; † December 10, 1916 in Dresden) was a German pedagogue, cantor, composer in the western Ore Mountains.
Gustav Bruno Dost attended the royal seminary in Neureudnitz from 1863 to 1869 and then studied at the Leipzig Conservatory. From 1873 he was a senior teacher at the royal teachers' seminary in the mountain town of Schneeberg (Ore Mountains). In 1884, he was one of the founders of the mountain choir ''Glückauf in Schneeberg''. In 1888, Bruno Dost became music director and professor. Two years later he also took over the cantorship in Schneeberg's St. Wolfgang's Church. The ''Obererzgebirgische Gausängerbund'' (music association) appointed Dost as its chairman in 1896. In 1899, he met the pianist Clara Schumann personally in Schneeberg. In 1904 he moved to the royal teachers' seminary in Annaberg. In 1913, he retired in Dresden.
