Bruno Stürmer (* September 9, 1892 in Freiburg im Breisgau; † May 19, 1958 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe) was a German composer and music teacher.
After completing his education at the Baden Conservatory in Karlsruhe, Stürmer studied musicology in Heidelberg, with Philipp Wolfrum and others. After first working as a Kapellmeister in Karlsruhe and Bitterfeld, he took up further musical studies in Munich under Adolf Sandberger and Theodor Kroyer. Once again working as a Kapellmeister, he first moved to Remscheid in 1922 and then to Essen in 1924.[1] In 1926, he founded a conservatory in Homberg, which was followed by further activities in Duisburg, Kassel, Düsseldorf and Erfurt. From 1930, he was active as a pianist and composer in Kassel, where he directed a chamber orchestra and a madrigal choir. From 1947 to 1957, he was a teacher at the ''Landesmusikschule'' in Darmstadt. In Frankfurt am Main, where he lived, he worked as a critic and freelance artist. From 1957, he was head of the Wiesbaden Conservatory's choral conducting seminar.
