Julius Röntgen (* 9 May 1855 in Leipzig; † 13 September 1932 in Utrecht) was a German-Dutch composer and pianist. He came from a German-Dutch family of musicians. His father Engelbert Röntgen was concertmaster of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, and Röntgen was distantly related to the physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen. His mother Pauline was a pianist and came from the distinguished Leipzig musical family of Klengel. Julius Klengel, cellist at the Gewandhaus, was his cousin.
