Érnest Gillet (* September 13, 1856 in Paris; † May 6, 1940 ibid) was a French cellist and composer of light music. He was the younger brother of the oboist Georges Gillet.
He grew up in Paris and studied cello at the Paris Conservatory with Auguste Franchomme. In 1893, his operetta ''La Fille de la mère Michel'' was published which he composed with Daniel Riche. One of his best-known pieces, ''Loin du bal'' was used in the 1943 film ''The Dancing Masters'' with Laurel and Hardy.
