Georg Mehling : Aspects - 2nd movement: Ceterum Censeo (dedicated to my wife and son)

1st movement: Allegro Moderato
2nd movement: Ceterum Censeo...
3rd movement: Finale
Aspects: As one grows older, one sees in many things that there is not always just one truth, but that something as seen from different angles can look different. This requires, however, that one strives for these other points of view (aspects). A prerequisite for this is the will and a certain adaptability (tolerance) which is missing in the 3rd movememt "Ceterum Censeo". Here, at first, a certain (doctrinal) opinion is valid. As the piece progresses, this opinion loosens up somewhat and other aspects open up. However: hard to digest! Even if one is no longer quite so sure, one still tries to stubbornly hold on to one's opinion at the end. Movements 1 and 3 show completely different aspects. Which ones? Everyone can interpret that for himself!
