Josef Snaga (* June 3, 1871 in Branitz, Silesia; † March 13, 1946 in Halle /Saale) was a German bandmaster and composer.
Snaga studied music at the University of Regensburg and in 1898 went to Leipzig to the conservatory there. At the same time he also studied at the university. Between 1899 and 1902 he was at the ''Hochschule für Musik'' in Berlin and also graduated.
After various engagements as Kapellmeister, Snaga was brought to Düsseldorf in 1905, where he worked until 1916. During that year, Snaga was engaged at the ''Apollo Theater'' in Berlin; later he also worked at the ''Wintergarten'' in Berlin. From 1923, he was a freelance composer. Josef Snaga later recorded numerous marches and classical opera pieces with his wind orchestra. Recordings for ''Deutsche Grammophon'' are attested from the year 1927.
