Werner Stamm (* March 6, 1912 in Solingen; † April 6, 1993 ibid) was a German police bandmaster and composer.
Werner Stamm was commissioned as a police master in 1956 to reestablish a police music corps in Wuppertal. He later transferred to the music corps of the Schutzpolizei (Security Police) ( Dortmund (today the Landespolizeiorchester Nordrhein-Westfalen). There he retired on March 13, 1972 as police chief commissioner. As a composer, his works include the 1950 hit ''Wenn das Wasser im Rhein goldner Wein wär'', sung by Willy Schneider, and the 1955 operetta ''Zeltinger Himmelreich'' which has been performed again every two years in the wine village of Zeltingen-Rachtig since the late 1980s. His other works include marches such as the ''Meteor March'' and light music.
The rights holder of the well-known ''Trink- und Schunkelliedes'' is now, for lack of other heirs, the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
In 2012, on the occasion of Stamm's 100th birthday, the municipality of Zeltingen-Rachtig decided to honor the composer with a commemorative plaque.
