Wikipedia:
Theodor Wottitz (* March 31, 1875 in Vienna; † March 11, 1937 ibid.) was originally intended to work in the leather industry. However, he was attracted to serious music, received his education at the Vienna Academy of Music, earned his living as a pianist and solo entertainer, and acted as a military bandmaster during World War I. He composed countless Viennese songs, marches, and overtures and arranged songs for orchestra. Wottitz was musical director at the ''Varieté Gartenbau'' and the ''Budapest Orpheum'' (1912-1914). In 1938, his printed music was removed from music stores because of his Jewish background.
The City of Vienna dedicated an honorary grave to Theodor Wottitz at the Vienna Central Cemetery (grave: Group 33 E, Row 16, No. 12) because of his services to the Viennese song.
