Johannes Soerensen (* 18 May 1767 in Glückstadt, †29 April 1831 in Neuwied) was a German physician and composer. Son of the tobacco manufacturer Severin Soerensen, he attended from 1780 the pedagogical, then the theological seminary of the ''Brüderunität'' in Niesky. From 1791, he completed theological studies in Kiel, then followed the study of medicine in Kiel and Copenhagen (doctorate in 1794). Soerens was a practicing physician in Flensburg (from 1794), Glückstadt (1796), from 1797 at the ''Brüdergemeinde'' in Ebersdorf (Vogtland), and from 1816 in Gnadenfrei near Reichenbach (Silesia). He spent his retirement from 1829 in Neuwied, where he died in 1831.
Johannes Soerensen composed primarily sacred chants, songs, odes and choruses.
