* 17.1.1936 in Linz, Austria. Conductor, composer and music teacher. Trained at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria (with J. F. Doppelbauer and H. Eder) until 1964. Franz worked as director of the from 1964-96 and as a teacher at the ''Bundesrealgymnasium'' in Güssing as well as director of the ''Stadtchor Güssing'' <, ''the Singkreis Gerersdorf'' bei Güssing> and the ''Bezirkslehrerchor''. 1966 initiator and {until 2022} director of the annual Güssing Music Days and conducts various orchestras, the Savaria Symphony Orchestra Szombathely/Hungary, as permanent conductor. Franz composes in "neo-romantic tonality, often accommodating practical needs".
