I’m a recorder player with a deep love for Renaissance music. When I couldn’t find many recorder-friendly editions of this repertoire, I began creating my own.
I adapt Renaissance vocal works from historical sources into barless scores for recorder ensembles—designed to support flexible phrasing, emotional connection, and ensemble listening. These editions use modern clefs, rehearsal letters, and gentle editorial guidance to welcome both amateur and seasoned players.
If you’re curious about barless Renaissance music for recorder consort, I invite you to explore my editions here on Musicalion. You can also read more about this approach in my article How to Play Barless Renaissance Music, published in the ARS-NOVA eMag Archive, available free at americanrecorder.org.
