Heinrich Weidt (* June 6, 1824 in Coburg; † September 14, 1901 in Graz) was a German composer, conductor and choirmaster. After teaching briefly in Wertheim, he lived as an actor in Hamburg from 1846 to 1854, where he composed his first songs.
Weidt was a well-traveled musician and worked in various European cities, including Zurich, Bern, Aachen, Kassel, Hamburg, Budapest, Olomouc, Timisoara, Troppau, Cilli and Graz, as a conductor, composer and teacher. From 1867 to 1872, he was active in Timisoara, where he worked as an opera composer and theater conductor and was one of the founding members of the Timisoara Philharmonic Society.
Despite his extensive activities, Weidt was largely forgotten after his death. It was only when the archives of the Timisoara Philharmonic Society were rediscovered in 1981 that his importance for the history of music in Central and South-Eastern Europe was once again highlighted.
