Wikipedia: Detlev Jöcker first studied music in Münster and was a member of Peter Janssens' vocal orchestra from 1975 to 1979. He is actively involved in concerts and seminars and has been working as a composer and publisher in Münster since 1986. In 1982, he founded the group Menschenkinder. [1]
Detlev Jöcker has sold more than 13 million records and has received nine gold and seven platinum awards from the German Music Industry Association. As the “Ambassador of German Children's Songs,” he has been traveling to various countries on behalf of the Goethe Institute for several years to promote the German language and culture through his concerts. Since meeting Nobel Peace Prize winner Shimon Peres in 2005, he has been an ambassador for the Peres Foundation. Jöcker has composed music for children's programs such as Tamusiland and radio plays, and his children's songs have been translated into many languages. In addition, he founded the Menschenkinder publishing house in 1987. Between 1980 and 2017, Detlev Jöcker released around 500 recordings and songbooks on children's and family topics.
For his extraordinary social commitment, he received the “Kind Award 2006” from Kinderlachen and the Hannelore Kohl Medal of Honor in 2011. In 2006, Jöcker was honored for his work at the House of History of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn, as part of an exhibition on the theme of “Melodies for Millions: The Century of Schlager Music,” alongside Udo Jürgens, Caterina Valente, and other well-known personalities. He was a member of the Ecumenical Lyricists and Composers Group of the Werkgemeinschaft Musik e. V. and the AG Musik in der Ev. Jugend e. V., today known as the Lyricists and Composers Group TAKT.
