Hermann Gustav Emil Niemeyer was a church musician and editor of the “Große Missionsharfe” (Great Mission Harp) – a collection of Christian songs. His activities can be traced from 1894 to 1925. He composed the melodies for two Christmas carols, HEILIGE NACHT! ENGEL UND SELIGE LOBEN (1895) and WEIHNACHT, WEIHNACHT, KEHRE WIEDER (1897), both of which are published here.
