The appeal of writing pieces for the Bordun instrument hurdy-gurdy lies in allowing the Bordun to be somewhat “forgotten” through the possible two-part harmony and harmonization. At the same time, this music always moves between tension (tones foreign to the Bordun) and resolution (matching the Bordun).
