Gruber, Jakob 12/25/1855 - 07/02/1902

Gruber,* born in Regensburg, first worked as a choir director at the Catholic parish of ''Mater Dolorosa'' in Pyrbaum and moved to St. Peter's in Munich in 1890 as choir director, organist, and composer.
Alongside Fritz Lubrich, Gruber was editor of the music magazine “Die Orgel – Monatsschrift f. Orgelmusik u. Kirchengesang” (The Organ – Monthly Journal for Organ Music and Church Music), published by Hofmeister since 1889, and later “Centralblatt für Kirchenmusiker” (Central Journal for Church Musicians), to which he also contributed his own compositions.
