As a human being, music is for me a wonderful medium for expressing emotions, exploring spaces, and communicating the energy of life.
As a pastor, music was both: part of my professional toolkit—functional music—and a means to the end of communicating the faith. At the same time, however, it always remained a herald of God’s beauty, unity, and diversity, and in that sense, it was directly from God, without any specific purpose, and beyond human control.
Now that I am retired, I have the time to polish and publish a few simple musical plays and the occasional song from the “functional music” category. Perhaps someone might find them useful for organizing a church service or a school celebration.
