Phil Spector was an American music producer and songwriter who revolutionized 1960s pop music with his innovative recording technique, the “Wall of Sound.” He achieved massive success with girl groups such as the Ronettes and the Righteous Brothers, and later produced the Beatles’ final album, ''Let It Be''. Despite his musical genius, he was considered an eccentric and difficult personality, which often led to conflicts with artists. His career came to an abrupt end when he was convicted in 2009 of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. Spector ultimately died in 2021 while serving his sentence from complications of COVID-19.
