Rodolfo Cogliatti was born in 1976 in Petropolis, Brazil, the son of Italian parents. In 1989 he studied voice and piano with Marco Aurelio Xavier, one of the best choral conductors in Brazil. After 1993 he received instruction in counterpoint, harmony, and instrumentation with teachers at the Musikschule UFRJ. He participated as a young soloist in many concerts, including with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB).



Since 1994 he has taught voice, piano, and music theory, while working as a choral director and pianist. Since 1997 many of his compositions (choral music, chamber music, piano pieces, and organ compositions) have been performed, mainly in Brazil, by renowned interpreters.
