Christian-Markus Raiser was born in Eschental/Hohenlohekreis, Germany in 1962. He studied church music (organ, harpsichord and conducting) at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart and Trossingen. From 1986 to 1991 he was cantor and organist at the Lutheran church in Renningen. From 1991 to 1996 he was cantor and organist at the Lutheran church in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. From 1995 to 2000 he taught organ literature and improvisation at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in Heidelberg. He expanded the scope of his artistic activity with numerous concerts and invitations to international music festivals in Europe and South America, recordings and compositions for various ensembles. Since 1996 he has been cantor and organist at the Lutheran church in Karlsruhe. He also directs the Bachchor Karlsruhe and the CoroPiccolo Karlsruhe.
