Ramiz Tahiri was born in Kosovo in 1950. In 1975 he completed his musical studies in theory, composition and conducting at the Musical Academy in Sarajevo. After 1975 he taught theory, conducting and piano at a conservatory in Zenica (Bosnia-Herzegovina). He also directed the Symphony Orchestra of Zenica in concerts sometimes including his own works.
He composed music for numerous plays staged by the most famous theater directors of the former Yugoslavia, with performances in several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 1995 he has been active in the Berlin Grips Theater. In 2004 he won first prize in the "Stringtime Niederrhein" for his "Two Impressions for string orchestra.
