Tekla (Thekla) Badarzewska-Baranowska (1834-1861) was a Polish musician and composer. She is mainly known as composer of the salon piece "A virgin's prayer" ("La prière d'une vierge"), which was first published in 1856. This piano composition was extremely popular at the end of the nineteenth century and was transcribed for many different instrumentations. She wrote altogether circa 35 salon pieces for piano.
