Judenkönig, Hans 01/01/1450 - 03/04/1526

Hans Judenkönig (1450-1526) - also written Judenkunig, Judenkünig - was born around 1450 in Schwäbisch Gmund, modern-day Germany, and died on March 4, 1526 in Vienna, Austria. He was a lutenist and one of the most significant instrumentalists of the Renaissance.

He was active in the sphere of the University of Vienna and became especially well-known through two widely disseminated method books for amateurs wishing to learn the lute on their own.
