Katariina Lukaczewski was born in 1978 in Backnang/Bade-Württemberg, Germany. She started learning the piano at the age of six and organ at the age of 13. In 1994 she took over a part-time position as organist in Beggingen, Switzerland.
In 1999 she started studying cultural studies and esthetic practice in music at the University of Hildesheim; she graduated in 2008. She studied piano with André Czarecki, organ with church musician Ole Hesprich and cathedral musician Stefan Mahr.
In the autumn of 2002 she studied abroad at the Svenska (Swedish) Yrkeshögskolan in Jakobstad, Finland, where she concentrated on playing the organ. She studied with Dan Lönnqvist.
Since then, she has been performing as an organist in Finland, Poland, the Netherlands and Germany.
She continued her organ studies at the conservatory of Hannover, taking organ lessons with Ulfert Smidt and Pier Damiano Peretti. She graduated with honors in 2011.
Since February 2006 she has been the second organist at the St. Andreas church in Hildesheim. She also works as a freelance organist, pianist, piano teacher, choir director and rehearsal pianist, and is a member of the women's vocal ensemble Vocademia.
