Siegbert Bermpohl was born in Gütersloh, Germany in 1933. He studied church music in Herford (Prof. Wilhem Ehmann, Johannes H.E. Koch) and Düsseldorf (Gerhard Schwarz). Since 1970 he has been cantor at the Lutheran Friedenskirche (Peace Church) of Leverkusen-Schlebusch-Waldsiedlung.
