Michael Drewes : Slow Movement for String Quartet

Going out for walks is very inspiring for musical ideas to come to my mind. This is one example of one evening walk in December 2013. In my late teens I got the idea that, in analogy to literature where there exists the genre of short story, one could write “short symphonies” consisting only of two movements, of which the first one starts with a slow introduction and continues with an allegro in sonata form, and the second one comprises also a slow first and a lively second part.
