Manfred Hoessl (born 1955 in Bayreuth) is a church organist and choir director in St. Veit in Neumarkt, Bavaria, Germany. He studied for a year at the Fachakademie für evangelische Kirchenmusik (Professional Academy for Protestant Church Music) in Bayreuth and then at the Fachakademie für katholische Kirchenmusik (Professional Academy for Catholic Church Music) in Regensburg. He then accepted positions as organ teacher in the dicoese of Passau and as church organist/choir director in Burghausen St. Konrad.
He spends a lot of time researching and classifying music, mainly from the nineteenth century, and publishing it on the web. His public domain archive www.hoessl.de offers a wealth of material.
He gives one concert a year at the piano; his work and concertizing at the organ are naturally more comprehensive. For many years he has emphasized works of the French Romantic, although he also likes to select more obscure compositions.
Manfred Hößl is married to Angelika Renges-Hößl, also a church musician. They have three grown children.
