Gustav Sieber (1915 - ) was born in 1915. From 1945 to 1980 he was the organist and choir director of the Kreuzkirche (Holy Cross Church) in Wiesbaden. In 1965 he founded the Evangelischer Kirchenchor (Protestant Church Choir) of Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt, which has directed till he died in 2006.



The local press has often reported his performances in glowing terms and held him up as one of the people in Wiesbaden who have decisively formed its musical life.



In the past 20 years he has composed much choral music: chorales, motets, folk songs. He has performed a large part of these with his church choir in the Evangelische Kirche Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt. His largest work is the Christmas Cantata "Die Geschichte von der Geburt Jesu" ("The Story of the Birth of Christ") for soloists, choir and instruments.



Every year on the 3rd Sunday in Advent he performs Christmas music. The program contains works of old and new masters, including his own compositions, most often "Die Geschichte von der Geburt Jesu."
