The song for 5 part mixed choir testifies to earthly transience; text (1524): Martin Luther (1483-1546), based on the Latin antiphon 'Media in vita' (melody: Johann Walther [1496-1570]); from '12 German Spiritual Songs' (1899); WoO VI/13, No. 12. Note: to the first stanza, the only one included in the original composition, Martin Luther's two subsequent stanzas were also added. The songs are also found in the ''Evangelisches Gesangbuch'' under No. 518, as well as in ''Gotteslob'' (2013) under No. 503.
