Koch, Wilhelmina (Minna) 02/22/1845 - 03/06/1924

Wilhelmina (Minna) Amalie Koch (née Schapper, 1845-1924) was born in Waldböckelheim/Nahe, Germany, and died in Stolp/Pommern, Germany. She composed sacred and secular song melodies, biblical motets and choral and instrumental music. Well-known is her melody to Adolf Krummacher's poem "Stern, auf den ich schaue" (Evangelisches Gesangbuch/Protestant Hymnal No. 407). She is one of only two women whose melodic compositions have been accepted into the main bocy of the Protestant Hymnal.
